Worked closely with the design lead to the re-design of ADP’s Wisely payment experience, giving underbanked workers a clearer visibility and easier access to their earnings. Partnering with product, research and the ADP team we built a new mobile app for users that balances financial empowerment with trust and security.
Problem
Confusing flows.
Hidden information. Limited trust.
Research & Insights
Our research uncovered five core needs shaping the design of Wisely Pay. Unbanked workers needed visibility into their money, simple setup, and reassurance that their money was deposited.
Approach
Fast iterations, trust-first design
We set out to simplify these high-friction moments. Early sketches focused on streamlined onboarding, clear card activation, and effortless access to balances and transaction history. Usability testing with real workers helped validate and refine these designs, ensuring the experience was intuitive, accessible, and trustworthy.
Brand Style
We selected green and purple as Wisely’s core colors. Green evokes growth and financial confidence, while purple conveys stability and a sense of trust. Color also guides users through the app: for example, the ‘Today’ page features a gradient blending green and purple to orient the user visually. The final layouts are open, airy, and uncluttered, letting users focus on tasks, while illustrations serve as a visual bridge connecting users to the Wisely brand.
